Beat the Heat Contest Rules

This is a local contest and KD Country's Local Contest Rules (shown below) apply. Rules specific to Beat the Heat are as follows: To enter, visit a participating sponsor and fill out an entry form guessing what the high temperature will be between July 15 and August 15, 2010. The high temperature is defined as the official temperature as recorded by the National Weather Service at the Lynchburg, VA Municipal Airport. No purchase is necessary. Deadline to enter is July 31, 2010. The winner will be selected by random drawing among the correct responses and will be announced August 19 on KD Country, 105.5 FM and 96.9 FM. Odds of winning will depend on the number of entries. Participating sponsors are: El Cazador, Main Street, Altavista, VA; Vista Auto Sales, Ricky Van Shelton Drive, Hurt; Lynchburg Tire, Fort Avenue, Lynchburg & Highway 29 Madison Heights; Altavista Appliance, 7th St. Altavista; and Burgers, Shakes and Cream, Hwy 501, Brookneal & Route 460, Blue Ridge. Persons unable to visit a sponsoring business may request an entry form by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to WKDE, PO Box 390, Altavista, VA 24517. An entry form will be sent, but we must receive your completed form by July 31, 2010. One winner will receive 4 one-day passes to Wet 'n Wild Water Park, Greensboro, Certificate valued at $25.00 to Crown Sterling Restaurant, Lynchburg; 4 public skating session passes at LaHaye Ice Center, Lynchburg, including skate rental; four tickets to a Lynchburg Hillcats home baseball game; a certificate for a one-night stay for two guests at Natural Bridge Hotel, including breakfast and admission to Natural Bridge & Caverns; and 2 passes for a sight-seeing cruise aboard the Virginia Dare at Smith Mountain Lake.

By entering a contest sponsored by KD Country, you agree to abide by our contest rules.

One winner per household per month for all contests. Please don't enter if you or someone in your household has won something in the last 30 days.

You must be at least 18 years old to enter and win KD Country's contests.

Employees of DJ Broadcasting, Inc., WKDE AM & FM and their immediate families are not eligible to win. Employees and immediate families of contest sponsors are not eligible to win.

Prizes awarded by DJ Broadcasting, Inc./WKDE AM & FM may be picked up at our station's studios Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. We may make other arrangements if you call us. We are not responsible for delivery delays, lost or stolen mail if you request that your prize be mailed to you.

We are not responsible for any telephone problems which may prevent you from connecting to our phone numbers during call-in-to-win contests.

Prize winners are responsible for all taxes, tariffs, fees or other expenses related to their prize. If a prize is valued at more than $600, we will issue a 1099 form to the winner for tax purposes.

In the event of a dispute regarding a prize, we will make every effort to work with you, but please understand that our decision is final. If the prize you won becomes unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute another prize of like value.

By entering a contest, you give us permission to use your voice and name on the air, and your name and image on our web site and in our promotional advertising.

Management may change the rules of a contest, length of time a contest runs or terminate a contest early. Prizes may be revoked if it is determined that a rules violation, fraud or cheating has occurred. Persons found ineligible to win for these reasons are ineligible to win any future contests.
